Rosback Pressure Sensitive Slitting Instructions
The pressure sensitive slitting is designed to provide the precise control
needed when slitting the backing on pressure sensitive material. Follow these
steps for setting up pressure sensitive slitting jobs.
- Setup machine as shown below and remove the plexiglass cover.
- Check slitters knife position. Knife holder (8) should be flush with
bottom of Slitter actuating arm (7). Knife (10) must be aligned so that slit
is parallel with arm axis. Set knife protrusion at 1/32" and lock (9).
- Set clearance amid Adjusting knob (1) and Actuating arm (2) at 5/16".
- Install assembly on perforator.
- Position the pressure sensitive slitting assembly so that knife will slit stock in desired
location; install and loosely tighten Cap screws (3) securing two pieces of
slitter base to the Burr roller support shaft (4).
- Position slitting Drive roll (6) on Lower cutter shaft (5) under knife;
hold knife against drive roll and tighten Cap screws (3) securely.
- Loosen Adjusting knob (1) three turns.
- Place sample of stock to be slit on feed table.
- Run one piece of stock through machine and check depth of slit. Adjust
depth by turning Adjusting knob (1) until the knife cuts backing material
without cutting stock paper. One turn of adjusting knob changes cut depth
approximately 0.001" (0.025mm).
